Roof Replacement Process
The roof replacement process involves several steps to ensure a smooth and successful installation. Here is a general overview of our typical roof replacement process:

Step 1
Initial Roof Assessment and Inspection: Once scheduled, our Roof Assessor will conduct a thorough inspection of your existing roof. This includes assessing the condition of the shingles, flashing, underlayment, and other components. Our Assessor will identify any issues, such as leaks, water damage, or structural issues, and provide you a written report with notes & pictures identifying any issues or areas of concern.
Step 2
Estimate and Proposal: Based on the inspection, we will provide you with a detailed estimate for the replacement, including the cost of materials, labor, and any additional services. You'll have the opportunity to discuss the proposed materials, color options, and other preferences. Once details are confirmed and the estimate is signed by you, we'll move your job into Job Preparation and begin the next steps.
Step 3
Scheduling and Preparation: Once you've agreed on the terms, we will request a 50% down payment to schedule the work crew for the roof replacement and order materials. If required, French Roofing will also apply for permits during this phase.
Step 4
Jobsite Preparation: On your scheduled start date, the Crew Lead will take steps to protect your property, such as covering plants, removing furniture, and ensuring the safety of the surrounding area.
Step 5
Old Roof Removal, aka Tear Off Roof: The existing roofing materials are removed carefully to avoid damage to the underlying structure. The Crew Lead will inspect the deck for any signs of damage or deterioration and make necessary repairs or replacements.
Step 6
Installation of Underlayment and Flashing: A waterproof underlayment is installed to provide an additional layer of protection against water infiltration. Flashing is installed around vulnerable areas such as chimneys, vents, and valleys to prevent water penetration.
Step 7
Installation of New Roofing Material: The chosen roofing material (shingles, metal panels, tiles, etc.) is installed according to the manufacturer's guidelines and industry best practices. Proper installation techniques are crucial for the durability and performance of the new roof. Work crew will clean & secure the site daily during the project.
Step 8
Clean-Up and Inspection: The Crew Lead will ensure the jobsite is thoroughly cleaned & returning plants / patio furniture to their original placement; The team will fully clean the work area, including the removal of debris and nails. Crew lead will conduct a final inspection & schedule the Final Walkthrough with senior team member.
Step 9
Final Walkthrough and Client Satisfaction: A senior team member from French Roofing will conduct the final inspection to ensure the new roof meets quality standards and adheres to job specifications. Once senior member signs off on the job, you'll be provided with information on warranty coverage and information on our Roof Maintenance Program to extend your roof lifespan.
